Keeping a low carbon footprint at Warings Furniture Keeping a low carbon footprint at Warings Furniture is paramount to ensuring a responsible outlook on the World we live in today.

Warings Furniture have, like many companies, considered the environmental impact of our business activities - and have attempted to minimise these through various courses of action:

  1. all cardboard packaging materials that we use are manufactured from recycled material, and any pigment inks or dyes used in our packaging are water based and free from lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalant chromium.
  2. the majority of our deliveries are made using our own vehicles and we ensure that they are regularly checked and serviced so that they are all running efficiently.  We also have satellite navigation systems fitted to all our vehicles to ensure that the most direct and economical routes are used and we always tie-up das many drops within the same area as possible throughout the country to avoid making trips without full loads.
  3. the 17 acre site which Warings Furniture occupies contains an area of woodland which we maintain.  We are also planting an acre of native broadleaf trees to offset our carbon omissions; the trees also increase the bio-diversity by providing shelter for wildlife.
  4. Warings Furniture have recently had planning permission granted to build additional office and warehouse facilities on our existing site and part of the plans are that solar panels should be used.  Also, due to the land that we have the advantage of, underground piping laid as a heat source for both buildings.
  5. within our office all paper is recycled by shredding and using as a packing material.  Also all internal messages are sent by e-mail as an ecological saving policy.
  6. within our manufacturing facility we recycle all waste metal and wash and recycle all rags in the polishing shop - we also use fabric hand towels throughout the whole company as opposed to disposable paper.
